Eduardo Gamboa (1960) Graduado en el Trinity College of Music de Londres, Su obra incluye música de concierto, tanto de cámara como sinfónica, así como una vasta producción de música para cine y teatro. Ha recibido premios y distinciones, como el Ariel, por la música original para la película Zurdo, dirigida por Carlos Salces (2004), el Mayahuel del Festival Internacional de Cine de Guadalajara, por la música original para el film Ciudades oscuras, dirigido por Fernando Sariñana (2002), y en dos ocasiones consecutivas el Alucarda que otorga el Festival Internacional Feratum, por la música original para la película La fórmula del Dr. Funes, dirigida por José Buil (2015) y por la música original para la película Jirón de niebla, dirigida por Julio César Estrada (2016). Por ésta última partitura también recibió la Diosa de Plata 2017.

Graduated as a guitarist at the Trinity College of Music in London, Gamboa has been entirely dedicated to composition since 1985. His work includes concert music, both chamber and symphonic, as well as a huge production of music for films and theater. His concert music, scheduled more and more frequently, has been performed in twenty countries in Europe, Asia, America and Oceania, by soloists, chamber ensembles and orchestras of recognized prestige. Among them the San Francisco Symphony, which played his Pasodoble Tenexac in the “Día de muertos” concert offered on the November 1st, 2014 at the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco. Trained as a composer under the tutelage of Maestro Joaquín Gutiérrez Heras, his music has been recorded and included in dozens of albums, both concert music and soundtracks. He has received awards and distinctions, such as the Ariel granted by the Mexican Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences, for the original music of the film Zurdo, directed by Carlos Salces (2004), the Mayahuel of the Guadalajara International Film Festival, for original music for the film Ciudades Oscuras, directed by Fernando Sariñana (2002), and on two consecutive occasions the Alucarda that awards Feratum, Fantastic, Horror and Sci-Fi International Film Festival of Tlalpujahua, Michoacán, for the original music of the film Dr. Funes Formula, directed by José Buil (2015), and for the original music for the film Jirón de Niebla, directed by Julio César Estrada (2016). For this last score he also received the Diosa de Plata (Silver Goddess) 2017.
